GIBSON Vintage 1949 J-45 Acoustic Guitar & Hardshell Case
GIBSON Vintage 1949 J-45 Acoustic Guitar & Hardshell Case
Vintage 1949 Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar
Serial number 4441 7. Tapered peghead, which according to George Gruhn changed before mid-1950 to uniform thickness. It was represented to me as a 1949 when I purchased the guitar. I have sold thousands of guitars but kept this one for many years because it was special to me. Some accomplished musicians have played the instrument and all though it sounded great. Super light 3 lb. 14 oz.. The guitar plays easily with very low action. Approximate string height low E is 3/32" and high E 3/64". 1 5/8" nut width. I would describe the neck profile is smaller to medium. The saddle has room to be lowered if so desired. The guitar shows lots of wear and is in fair cosmetic condition with professionally repaired body cracks and one missing back brace. A pickup was installed long ago and the jack hole is still present. The volume control hole was filled in. Original finish with a few touch ups. Otherwise it appears to be original except for bridge pins and the originals are worn but included. Frets show less that average use for a 74 year old instrument. Common fingerboard wear. Includes quality hard shell case which is in nice condition. Please see photos.
